No Binding Contracts
SMC doesn't believe in binding or long-term contracts that obligate you to restriction of trade or monetary considerations. You will simply get a one page Letter of Agreement that authorizes you to use any of SMC's marketing methods or products in the pursuit of your own consulting business.
No Territorial Restrictions
As an SMC certified consultant, you can operate anywhere you choose. There are absolutely no territorial restrictions that limit your business activities.
No Real Inventory
Your SMC Marketing Consultancy is largely based on analyzing your clients' marketing objectives, identifying challenges problem areas, developing workable solutions for solving those problems, and helping install the PYB systems that make their business attract more customers, more efficiently and more profitably. You will only require the PYB book, manuals, reports and CD’s to stock at very minimal cost.
No Overheads
As an SMC Certified Marketing Consultant, you can operate your business with very low costs. Other than a laptop computer, a telephone and Internet connection, there is nothing else required or needed to run a successful SMC Marketing Consultancy.
No Employees
One of the beauties of owning an SMC marketing consultancy, is that you can run your business solo, or if you choose, you may hire a full or part time assistant to act as receptionist and/or to do administrative and follow up work. The choice is completely up to you.
Work From Home Or An Office
Since most of your business will be conducted at your clients' locations or by telephone or email, there is no need for a formal office. However, if you wish to have your prospects or clients meet in a more formal setting, you may, if you choose, elect to have your own office, and may choose to operate it by yourself, with another SMC consultant, or with a joint venture partner.
Full Or Part Time
When you operate as an SMC affiliate consultant, there is not need for you to quit your regular job to begin your consulting business. If you choose to dive right in and make the consultancy your full time occupation, you may certainly do so. But if you feel more comfortable with a steady income from another job while you get your consultancy up and running, that option may work better for you. Part time consultants can be very successful with the selling PYB system.
Use Your Own Business Name
Since many SMC consultants work with only a handful of clients at a time, a national brand is not as important. The opportunity to work under your own name and become known by that name is not only beneficial, but desirable.
Not MLM Or Network Marketing
SMC is in NO way a multi-level marketing or network marketing program. There are no tiers, no structure levels, and no overrides to share with others as a result of your efforts. However, if another consultant refers a client to you, or requests your help in consulting with a client, you may wish to work out a split-commission arrangement with that consultant. The agreement you come to is entirely between you and the other consultant.
Corporate Joint Ventures
Most SMC consultants will work with local businesses in the small to medium size business category. However, there may be an occasion where a you might have the opportunity to consult with a very large and complex client. If you feel you don't have the knowledge and skills to close such an account or to provide the level of consulting they may require, you may team up with SMC’s Corporate for assistance.
Work With A Few Clients At A Time
To be successful as a marketing consultant, you only need a handful of clients at a time. Depending on the size of the client, the amount of work required with each client and the increased value you can bring to them, incomes in the six figures can be earned with as few as four clients per month. Most SMC consultants will do well with 6 to 8 clients at any one time.
